Fear? Failure? Forget about it.

There’s a fear of doing something we don’t want to do simply because it repels us. It borders on dread. Then, there’s a different kind of fear towards something you want to do, but you’re too afraid to try. The latter feels worse, especially when you know you have to do it, or you’re going to blow this thing called life. So then you decide you’re going to do it, but your whole being is on the line.

What if you screw it up? What if it turns out to be a shit show? What if it’s not what you thought it would be and it’s one big disappointment? And then what’s left to do for the rest of your life?

Well, you just move on.

What else can you do? Whining about it isn’t going to do anything. Neither is the pity party you’re going to want to have like you’ve lost everything. Get out of self-pity. Get out of feeling down and thinking you’re not good enough.

Let go of worrying what other people think. We all suck at so many things at different points in our lives. And what does it matter anyway what words are said about you? Other people’s opinions do not define who you are and what you can or cannot do.

Get up, brush the dust off your ass, and get on a different horse. Try something new. Try something different. Or go back and do something that you’ve done before and want to do better.

Look at yourself from an outsider’s perspective to get the hurt ego out of the way. Do an appraisal of yourself; pretend you’re doing it for another person to be as objective as you can. Assess what your next exciting and creative venture could be.

From there, you start all over again. So what? Maybe this time, you still won’t get it right, but you’ll fail faster and get up quicker. Perhaps this time you will get it right, and then, BOOM!

The rest of your life begins.
